Theme of this series: Finding Balance
What does balance really mean — in your body, your mind, and your everyday life?
In this new Mindful Student Group series, we’ll explore finding balance not as something to achieve, but as something to sense, practice, and return to. Together, we’ll slow down and tune into how balance shows up for each of us — between rest and activity, self and others, giving and receiving, effort and ease.
Through mindfulness, meditation, movement, reflection, and shared experience, we’ll explore how to listen to our bodies, clarify what matters, and navigate life with more presence and care.
This is a warm, supportive space for (international) students and young adults to reconnect with themselves, feel supported by others, and explore what helps them move through life with more awareness and care.
No prior experience needed — just curiosity and openness.

ABOUT THE SESSIONS
We offer you a soft landing: a safe place to pause, breathe, and mindfully connect with yourself. We always start with a moment to arrive and ground ourselves through meditation, sometimes followed by gentle movement to help us anchor into the body and the here and now, and to step out of the thinking mind. Then we take a moment to check in together: how are you today? What is alive in you? Sometimes we keep it short; other times, there will be more space to share. We want this to be a supportive and gentle space for you.
What follows varies per session and series, depending on the theme or topic, the energy of that day, and your needs and wishes as a participant. We like to include self-reflective exercises, creative activities, and connecting practices, which we may do together as a group, 1-on-1 with another participant, or individually.
There is a short break halfway through, and after the sessions, there is some extra time and space to connect, have some tea, ask questions, etc.
We pick a theme or topic to focus on during each series. In previous sessions in 2025, we have explored the topics of compassion, emotions, trust, surrender & letting go, authenticity.

FACILITATORS OF THIS GROUP
Liucija Pliaukstaite is a psychologist, and a volunteer and trainer at Sedna Recovery Academy. She is from Lithuania and has been living in the Netherlands for about seven years. She joined the Mindful Student Group in 2023 as a participant and has since gone on a deep journey of personal and professional growth. She is excited to now co-facilitate the Mindful Student Group together with Marije, and to offer young adults a similar opportunity for support and growth as she once experienced, both in the group and in life.
Marije Mulder is an Applied Psychologist, space holder, and trainer at Sedna Herstelacademie. Within the organization, she focuses on creating and facilitating programs for young adults. Marije has many years of experience guiding groups in a safe and gentle way. She offers courses and workshops on mindfulness, meditation, embodiment, (self-)connection, personal development, and women’s wisdom.
